An oil spill discovered at Prudhoe Bay field is the largest ever on Alaska's North Slope region, US officials say.

Alaska hit by 'massive' oil spill. "The spill covers two acres of the snow-covered tundra."

I'll save the neocons the trouble.

When you consider this spill only covers 2 acres, out of all the thousands and thousands of acres, it's nothing. Doesn't matter.

267,000 gallons of oil, compared to all the area, all the snow, all the water, is squat.

Just because it's from a corroded part of the pipeline doesn't mean all the pipeline is corroded. This may have been last on the maintenance list.

If this is the worst that happens, it positively begs for more drilling on the North Slope. After all, this is nothing.
