Thanks, Bowser. It's funny how everyone just assumes that it's a laser. The beam's very tightly focused and doesn't seem to spread, but now that I think about it, it's awfully thick to be any conventional laser. I'd expect a beam like that from the airborne laser system they're working, and I guess in retrospect maybe I should've wondered why the Luxor had one and the Air Force was still spending billions to develop theirs. $53/hour...let's see the Air Force beat that!
