Tell me about it. Actually, it hasn't been bad in my location. The sirens went off at 8am and we got a 5 min hailstorm, but that's it. The big am storm tracked just south of my house -- 5 miles away it was golfball to baseball hail and RVs being blown off the highway. Then this evening, the storms have all stayed SE of downtown KC, while I live NW of downtown.
It's been one of the more bizarre parts of living here. I'm used to the west coast, where microclimates exist due to topography and proximity to the ocean, but generally those are modifying a weather pattern that is consistent everywhere in the region.
Just the opposite here: no topographic or thermal inertia differences to speak of on a 100 mile scale, but the weather comes in tremendously organized, randomly distributed packets. Look at the "total rainfall" view on that radar link. Narrow tracks have up to 2" of rain, while areas between tracks just a trace. A mile or two is all the difference it takes.
