re: Just discovered "SketchUp" 3D software

My office bought a couple of copies a few months ago. The week after we bought them I had to order 3 more since the program was so popular. It's really addictive and fun to use. They have a network version that allows you to install it on all your computers in a network, but only the number of licenses you own can be opened at the same time. This really saves us money, since its not likely that more than 5 people "need" to be using it at once.

I have only spent a limited time in the program, but others in the office who have little to no experience creating 3d models have learned it extremely fast. The program can get a bit dificult the more complex your model, however everybody seems to be able to work through it ok.

Autodesk has taken notice of Sketchup. The latest AutoCad 2007 has a function that creates 3d mass objects in similar ways to sketchup, so I've read. Haven't recieved the latest AutoCAD yet, so haven't been able to try it out yet.
