Clarification
The connection between Earth and Mars is extremely tenuous. But if we were more aware of the quantum subset that connects Earth to Mars, we could extend ourselves to that planet without leaving Earth. A crude analogy would be the rubbery Mr. Fantastic from the Fantastic Four, who could extend his limbs to great lengths, effectively being in two places at once. I would like to think that manipulation of the quantum field could allow us to do that on a cosmological scale.
