Hello there!!
We are excited to report that we have surpassed the 1000 mark for
reported observations! Thank you everyone for your nighttime
observations of Orion!
Remember, you can do more than one observation! Pick a new location,
get the new lat/long, make your observation and report it online!
(Visit http://www.globe.gov/GaN/report_mult.html) Try selecting a new
location that you suspect will have a different magnitude of visible
stars. For instance, you may consider locations such as the home of a
relative, a location near the edge of your community or near the center
of your community. Can you see the difference in the nighttime sky?
Once you have reported your observations, check the "Map" section of the
Web site to see patterns of light pollution in your country (updated
once a day). Visit http://www.globe.gov/GaN/analyze.html
So, let's get out and observe the night sky in a new location!
Sincerely,
GLOBE at Night Team
