There's really not much I can do about the discrepancy. The server on the filter is elaborate, takes a significant amount of code, and takes a while to execute. On the browser there's no filtering in preview beyond paragraph and line break formatting, it just takes the plain text entered in the message box and displays it--whatever it is--as HTML. It'd be a significant effort to recreate the full filtering in the browser, and I don't see that it's worth that effort.
