Just a couple of answers...

there is a HUGE amounbt of published information. Just pick any popular astronomy book or specialist Mars boook from your library as a starting point. The University of Arizona Space Science title "Mars" is the definitive collection of Mars science and understanding from the Viking Missions. It's 1000+ pages of information - a goldmine of data, interpretation, and some mis-interpretation but it's a good starting point is you want to get seriously interested in Mars.

Of course, you will need to understand science to understand Mars - this includes physics, maths etc. Your track record on Earth is not encouraging, IMHO.
