Unbelievable.
This is just sad on so many levels
I propose we take over Mexico so we can "All be one world" - since obviously the Mexican world is a dead-end nightmare. When anyone asks about the legality of such an act, we just act indignant and say,
"God created all of us. He's not a God of the United States, he's a God of the world."
Then all Mexicans fondest dreams will be realized - they'll all be Americans, get to pay taxes, and we can end the eco-disasters and criminal predators festering on our southern border. Let President Fox sign the surrender treaty and be done with it.
The bottom line is quite simple - if too many Mexicans come to America, America will eventually become like Mexico and that's exactly what they are running away from. So it's in their own best interests to prevent that. Unfortunately, short-term, me-first selfishness outweighs long-term thinking every time.
Mexico isn't terrible because of the weather, the land, or the geography. It's not devoid of resources, ports or seaways.
It's the people. They can't seem to get their act together as a nation. As a nation, Mexico is a failure. It's sits on the richest border in the world in the most favorable climate of the planet and they manage to make the place a nightmare: politically, economically and domestically.
Amazingly, Mexico is very xenophobic when it comes to folks entering Mexico from Guatemala and folks on their southern border. If America imitated Mexican immigration policy we would be merciless. They of course are the ultimate nation of hypocrites. They want to break our laws but don't want folks to break theirs. They show no respect for America - only issue blatant demands.
This bill is LONG overdue. The fact that so many illegals are already here and can disrupt our schools and workplaces in many parts of the nation is a sign that our immigration policy is a Hiroshima-scale disaster.
Why can't they get this organized to make their own country like America. Why be a nation of parasites looking for an easy way out? We have bent over backwards and our economy and incomes are already shot to Hades by the unstopping horders. We threw away their debt when their currency sank, we've given half our blue collar jobs to illegals and now some sellout politicians lie baldface and pretend "Americans don't do blue collar work". Yeah, right.
The truth is with hordes of illegals doing gardening work, it makes it near impossible to earn a decent wage gardening. With hordes working in the service industry it makes those jobs ever more worthless too. Eventually only jobs that require education and intellect will still pay any money - already this is starting to occur in the workplace. Hard work just doesn't pay when you have fifty million spare bodies ready to work for next to nothing.
Tough love. That's what's needed.
Mexico needs to be forced to get their own economy, population problems and government in order. The people need impetus to become reformers and leaders in their own land. A tight border is the only way to achieve that. It's in Mexico's best interests.
How nightmarish can it be when the goal of growing up - is successfully sneaking illegaly into another country? And then you have to lie to yourself and say you're "proud" of yourself, parents and relatives who break laws and choose the easy way out?
Talk about a built in way of keeping folks self-esteem low...
