It should make great radiation shielding.

The magnetic fields of Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune are dozens of times stronger than Earth's, but are still far weaker than Jupiter's, which makes the radiation belts far weaker than Jupiter's as well. They also extend many tens of thousands of kilometers from the planets. Sounds like great passive radiation shielding to me. The strong magnetic fields would also allow for massive power generation via tethers.
