Venus and Mercury
Hi Guys
The alternative theory is that Mercury lost its mantle in a fender-bender with proto-Venus - a higher speed, hyperbolic version of the Earth-Theia collision that made the Moon.
Nick once made the point that Venus is Earth with the Moon still a part of the mantle. It could also be Earth buried beneath half-a-Mars of mantle scrapped off Mercury.
