no doubt he would gain with some personal satisfaction....
that he died a martyr.
However, I would rather he be a martyr in his mind's last moment than a remembered captive that could be used for extortion.
I doubt that failing to complete his mission will get him much acclaim in muslim terrorist circles and he would likely become a quickly forgotten martyr.
