Theocracy and freedom ......from a philosophical standpoint

If your premise is they should not coexist, then do you suggest it is a proper role of government to break up or eliminate the theocratic state?

Inasmuch as this does seem to be the position you propose, might I assume you favor the action of Red China in flushing out the Dali Lama and chasing him from Tibet and "freeing" the Tibetan people from the stanglehold of Bhuddist government and religion tied together?

And, how about the Taliban? A righteous government we first supported, armed and trained---then opposed and deposed from legitimate power.

So, the real question is can theocracy and freedom co-exist is the present day world structure of globalization, or should it be disallowed and opposed even in violation of the wishes of the people governed under that structure?

The theocratic state favors the democratic principle of "one man, one vote." The problem for Western civilization is that in the theocratic state they modify it to "one man, one vote, one time."

Without liberal institutions to intervene, individual liberty doesn't exist. We need, and the world needs to become more liberal. Period.
