I think this is the 64,000 dollar question RL and I also think it was what Nick was alluding to with his "dreams" subject heading.

How do you make this antimatter rocket not cancel out it's forward thrust?

If it would work and they stopped being chicken with how much antimatter to launch the thing could get you to Mars in days not months. Of coarse you would have a very big hole in the ground if things went terribly wrong during launch.
