re: Cansats for $99

Already got mine from Masten Space Systems. I'll probably end up sending up some personal effects, although I do have an experiment in mind. Would work much better in a GASCan (sigh...), but maybe.

I already sent up my ISU student ID on a Beyond-Earth Enterprises rocket (which crashed. Cool, now I have a wrinkled ID which proves its rocket voyage). My NASA Academy ID is waiting on their next one.

I might send up my scale Earth/Moon/Mars marble set that I just got. The Earth marble is just beautiful. Then when I use them for outreach displays I can say they've been in space.

Not sure about my sample of aerogel. It would be cool to say that it's been in space, but the risk from its fragility is probably too great.

Too bad my Sikhote-Alin nickel-iron meteorite walked at one of our NSS displays. It would have been cool to say it's the first (documented) meteorite to go back out into space and land a second time (maybe).

I wonder if my astronaut Snoopy will fit in the can. Defintely the Dancing Astronaut Snoopy medal from Yuri's Night, and the Right Stuff medal from Space Camp.

Maybe the barf bag I didn't use from the Zero-G flight.

Hmmm...so many possibilities.
