If you accept this augument, then you can not at same time seriously support nuclear non proliferation policy. Iran signed a treaty that they would not make nuclear weapons, and in exchange they would be allowed to acquire nuclear technology [for nuclear energy and other peaceful uses] by members of NPT [e.g. Russia and China].
There are only two countries in the world violating NPT: Iran and N Korea. Are you also suggesting we stop pestering N Korea?
And following this further, do you have any argument against Russia selling it's nuclear weapons to any country willing to buy them? If so please explain.
Selling at a billion or 2 dollars per nuclear weapon system [such as launchable from a sub or launching 1000s of miles, or launchable from airplanes- and 100 times more powerful than atom bombs and cleaner in terms of radioactive fallout] and they easily could spare to sell say 100 such systems- and that go along way toward making Russia a wealthy country. Economically it make sense for Russia, and for the country buying these system it's very cheap, and all finally countries wanting these nukes, won't need to test a bunch nukes by exploding them in order to develop their own nuclear weapons.
