I suspect that the size of crucification of Pullman was smaller in reality than it is in your mind.
I do recall it came up here once (maybe you bringing it up?). But I haven't run into it anywhere else. In any case, I have no idea what the spewing might be about. The books were ok. I don't recall a strong political message. Maybe I failed to decipher the symbolism properly.
