By and large, I think most reasonable people agree with you.
I would like to see the border blocked off much more effectively than it is, including a fence or wall if necessary, and then deal fairly with those that are already here. "Fairly" does not include either blanket amnesty or universal deportation.
It may be time to take another look at the quotas for legal immigration, as well as the process. Making these more realistic and effective may be part of the solution.
Unfortunately, I don't think either party in Washington is being reasonable about this right now.
