In the old day...............
Here in Florida, our legislature used to meet every other year. When we were a one party (Democratic) state, state committee used to meet once a year to determine how much per diem they would get, and then go home.
Today, we have an active Republican party--so we seem to be in session all year long, every year. Committee people actually suggest names for judges and have a say in appointing people.
I liked the old way better.
