Hm-m-m -- hell and technology . . .
For nearly a million years, our ancestors grew to realize they were surviving, and not all that well, in an environment best described as "hell on earth." Over the past few hundred years, this hell has become a fairly tolerable "purgatory on earth." Our next step would have to be to work toward a "paradise on earth," culminating in an actual "heaven on earth."
