1990s?

So how do you explain the 1990s boom -- and increase in tax revenue -- following the 1993 tax *increases*?

Given that there is both a secular trend towards higher GDP and thus higher taxes, rates being held constant, and a business cycle in which we are now climbing and probably on the high side of the mean, is there anything surprising about record high tax receipts this year? The relevant question is what revenue would have been absent the tax cuts of 2001.

I find it especially ironic that you post thsi the same day you posted a piece about global warming hype. Had any of us posted something that read, "CO2 levels increase -- hottest April ever. Any questions?", you would quite rightly have ripped the poster apart and told them to go back and take Research Design 101 over again.
