I don't think you're going to get a lot of takers to dump billions in capital investment in oil fields they won't be allowed to make money from.

The minute permission is given to drill in AWNR, the futures price will drop like a rock. The anti-drilling people know this, and also know that when that happens, a lot of Americans will start asking who's been crushing domestic production and refining for the last decade.

This isn't about caribou. It's about political survival.
