Is Space Flight the hardest thing human-kind does?

I guess it boils down to a definition of "hardest".

Regularly landing a multi-ton twitchy high performance aircraft at night in bad weather on a moving deck during combat operations safely has to rank right up there at the top, but is it right next to sitting on 4.5 million pounds of volatile and extremely engineered spacecraft where flying skills *might* play a remote chance of saving one's bacon if something goes terribly wrong?

How bout those peoples who sit aplomb monsterous 6,000 hp nitro-methane breathing IC power plants soley to rocket a barely steerable 4-wheel contraption to upwards of 350 mph in less that 1,320.01 feet?

Is that nuts? Or is it progress?
