That was fun, thanks Tom.
All impeachment scenarios run up against Bush's impeachment insurance: Dick Cheney. Phillips tries to find a way around it, but that is the crux of the difficulty. The question of who is Speaker of the House at the time takes on vital importance, and like Phillips, I've wondered if that question would become a central issue of the upcoming election. But not knowing that the Speaker doesn't have to be a member of the House, I never in a million years would've thought of appointing a Senator of stature or even--the chutzpah takes my breath away--Bill Clinton. Phillips lit the engines and went hyperbolic with that one. Sure, I'd call it a fantasy too. Or a thought problem that may inspire a creative solution.
