Safeguard #1 -- military action

Iraq has been forced to trade oil in dollars again, to their detriment. I've been trying to figure out why the US invaded Iraq, and of all the reasons this is the only one that actually made sense: Bush takes political and military action for financial reasons. It's a pitched battle between sworn enemies (the axis of evil versus NATO), employing a three-pronged attack

1. Military warfare.
2. Information warfare.
3. Economic warfare.

We're familiar with the first, and can recognize most of the propaganda of the second, no matter which side of the fight it's coming from. The third element is above most people's detection threshold. I have to admit, I didn't see any evidence of it until now, unless we were citing collateral damage from military action, but it makes total sense that the battle strategies would include currency devaluation, manipulation of the stock markets, interest rates, etc. to the detriment of the enemy.
