Pirates- aaarrrrrrga
One of the main characters in my book, I am trying to get published, was a real life pirate, Karl Steinheimer. Karl had a very interesting life before he died of an Native American attack here in Texas.
Galveston, Texas was a big pirate hang-out, but Karl had never been there. He had come up from Mexico. But Jean Lafitte hung out there and had a strong compound near where UT Medical School now sits. Legends about him are all along the Texas and Louisiana coast.
