Big shocker for me: my refrigerator is the worst appliance. Even worse than the furnace and the air conditioner, which only operate during the coldest and hottest months of the year, respectively. The refrigerator runs year-round!!!
Of an estimated 390 kWh per month that I consume, the fridge consumes 122 kWh per month. That's nearly one-third of my electrical costs. It will be interesting to see how that changes when the smart meter is installed.
