I’m POed! Back in January the IMAX movie Roving Mars was released. I have been waiting for it to show up at one of the local IMAX theaters here in Southern California. However it is still not here. I have inquired and was told they have no plans for now to show it. They say it’s not up to them, that Disney has not chosen to show it here, and I should contact Disney about it. Well after many futile attempts to get hold of someone at Disney who might know something about it all I got was that it would be out on DVD soon. It’s an IMAX movie! I’ve already seen videos of the MER missions on TV. I was looking forward to seeing it at an IMAX theater, but it appears now that it will never be shown in this area. It has been showing at IMAX theaters in San Francisco, San Jose, and Phoenix, but nowhere here in the L.A. area. For crying out loud the rovers were designed and built here at JPL you would think if they wanted a guaranteed audience, this would be the first place they would show it.
