Sometimes you have to let go.... Hubble space telescope is becoming outdated by ground based scopes- Yerkes should be offered to an amatuer group with a huge public outreach budget. There is a beauty in preserving the old- but eventually it becomes a vice...

There is so much more we could do! Yerkes will not do much more- it is better to spend the money on the next generation of scopes- Imagine a 30 or 100 meter scope and what it could see...
