Toyota pushing hybrid tech forward
Car companies are busting their humps to refine this technology. A bit of news here.
Key areas right now in the industry are the "plug in" concept, and working with diesel.
"Plug In" technology allows a hybrid to be plugged in at night, and for short runs, use mostly electric drive. Most current hybrids aren't set up for it (not enough battery for one thing) and need a several thousand dollar "upgrade" to do it.
As is plugins would be a great thing, and one more step to practical pure electrics.
