Superearths more likely around red dwarfs--speculations on exotic planets

http://www.spacedaily.com/reports/Ultraviolet_Stripping_Creates_Super_Earth_Sized_Planets.html

The variety of planets in the universe has to be staggering. It is going to be so cool when we can get some larger surveys going that will be able to characterize many (thousands and ultimately millions).

Out of curiosity, could anyone guess at the largest diameter hard sufaced planet that would be 1g. Will the diameter always be about the same for terrestrial planets due to compression, or can you have materials that would allow for significanly larger 1g bodies? There was recently an article on the potential for planets to be made of chiefly carbon (because of selective winds through a gas cloud). And someone speculated about mountains of diamonds on such a planet. Could you have a body that virtually entirely water ice? If you did what would be its nature? Any planetary experts out there care to speculate on exotic possibilties for planets?
