Plans were already on the table back early in November (and possibly earlier) with the invasion date SET around St. Patrick's day. I knew it and so did many others. People who knew Tommy Franks knew we were getting ready to move in. It was a done deal.
All the brouhaha that Bush said on TV in the months leading up to the invasion were LIES.
He lied to the American public and he lied to the world.
Whether we should stay there or not is a moot point now.
We have created generations of American haters and thousands more 'insurgents" or "terrorists".
Case in point. The brutality of our attack on Fallujah, which had a media blackout on the death toll and no films were allowed out. However, an American filmaker Mark Manning has done a film called "Caught in the Crossfire". It talks about how we firebombed a holy city of mosques and a quarter million people to try and take out a small number of "insurgents". I think the final number was 117.
There are two clips and they are disturbing; shameful even.
I was against this invasion before we went in because I KNEW it would be a disaster. I have given my reasons ten times here, so I'm not going over them again. There is no way we can say that ANY of our actions in Iraq are <honorable.>
