re: translating textbooks to English
Government documents are written in a dialect related to, but not derived from, postmodernist jargon.
I haven't read much US Govt documentation; I did once read the NASA report on the failure of the Mars Polar Lander in 1999, and was very impressed by it. But then, that's engineering, where BS can kill you.
Someday postmodernism's value as the Guardian of Chaos will be recognized, I predict, not as a major voice, but as a breathing space to allow humanist philosophy to regroup in the face of a new onslaught of priestly homogeniety. (I have been wrong before...)
Good luck with that, and may the US Bill of Rights prevail ....
... and most important of all, we should all remember that
"Only the pure of heart can make a good soup" (Beethoven)
