I should also let you know that Gene Roddenbury was involved with questioning the "Nine" and worked with John Whitmore and Phyliss Schlemmer for many years and got a lot of the ideas for his Star Trek episodes from those contacts.

Also, it was why his last show was called "Deep Space Nine".
