Neptune question

APOD 6/17/06

The unusual vantage point also robs Neptune of its familiar blue hue, as sunlight seen from here is scattered forward, and so is reddened like the setting Sun. Neptune is smaller but more massive than Uranus, has several dark rings, and emits more light than it receives from the Sun.

Neptune emits light? Did they mean energy not light?

Or is the energy Neptune emits creating the blue hue for example, considered more light than what it receives from the Sun?

Anybody know what they mean? I was always under the impression planets didn’t emit light.
