Have times changed?
Over two centuries ago, the French King had to tell the populace
that those strange round objects that sometimes descended upon
their villages were not pieces of the Moon falling on their heads
(peasant farmers attacked and ripped to shreds one of the first
such balloons when it came down on their village. The balloon
was unmanned) but scientific devices made by men.
Now we have to worry that anything coming down on our heads
is a bomb.
