I'll bet there's a lot more to this story and that the police are on a witch hunt. Whether it's well-deserved (complaints from the neighbours, long standing hostilities between the family and police, etc...), it still doesn't give the right of detective Karlis to stick his foot in their door and be backed up by six cops, unless they had a warrant.
Sounds to me they were looking for a fight.
Small town politics? Hey, cops are just cops.
>"Police instead arrested Gannon, charging him with two felony counts of violating state eavesdropping and wiretap law by using an electronic device to record Karlis without the detective’s consent."
What? Detective Karlis was snooping on them, they filmed him snooping (could have been anyone snooping), and the cops arrested and charged him for that? What?
Karlis should have big hat on saying DETECTIVE DO NOT FILM. Maybe he ought to have it on his vehicle too, eh wot?
Big time fishy. Big time illegal. Hope they have a good lawyer.
If the judge sides with the cops, I smell trouble.
