re: Ignoring lunatic conspiracy theories...

On the subject of playing on fears.
Do you have any comment on Al Gore's movie?
For instance do you regard it responsible [or vitally neccessary] documentary?

Now, perhaps you don't have the time to go to theater and pay the 8 bucks to watch it. This doesn't appear to be an uncommon position for most people. But there has been number of things said about it and one could get the general drift by such statement as:

"Humanity is sitting on a ticking time bomb. If the vast majority of the world's scientists are right, we have just ten years to avert a major catastrophe that could send our entire planet into a tail-spin of epic destruction involving extreme weather, floods, droughts, epidemics and killer heat waves beyond anything we have ever experienced."

If you google search "Humanity is sitting on a ticking time bomb" you get about 800 hits. [But if you check "Gore is Moron" you only get two hits.]
Now, "Humanity is sitting on a ticking time bomb" may not playing on anyone fears, because it such corny and silly thing to say.
Most people might realize that Gore just doing this as stunt, as a way to get elected. Some might see it as clever way to get around campaign laws. It might even be fair to say anyone who isn't clever enough to at least write a book to get him/her elected shouldn't even be President. And of course making a movie is better than a book, afterall lots of people would prefer to watch a movie than read anything.
Some people even imagine that one needs to see movie to gain any understanding of an issue. So once again Gore is being the father of something. But I'm in a quandary, I don't know who is more touch with everything "cool" Gore or Kerry? Kerry's wind surfing photo op was pretty impressive. Of course getting President into speedos is probably one most important things to be done in America, I do hope Gore is brave enough to be that father of that. That would major step toward's world peace.
Naturally, no one want to see old men in speedos, but younger women in bikinis is different matter, and of course once women are running the govt, we won't get any wars- it's just common sense.
