If you believe it, it's "incisive social commentary".
A free enterprise decided there was a market for this film, so it bet big bucks that there was an audience for it worth investing in. By their reasoning, they are only "providing the people what they want". "They are meeting their entertainment needs."
Let the free market decide. If the film is successful, then it's art. If it bombs, its just another turkey.
That's what happens when you let markets make decisions with social or moral consequences. Neither social nor moral needs are addressed. Or are they?
Incidentally, the poster suggests this film was made by the same people who did "District 9", the movie about an enormous alien spacecraft stranded in South Africa and the alien passengers and crew are rounded up and forced into into segregated township slums. That was propaganda, too; or was it?
