Usual pablum for the usual audience.
No different than "Avatar" or a legion of other films that play these cards. The plot and premise of "Elysium" make no sense as a whole, but who cares, right? Think over the film's ending, and see if you notice a glaring problem.
Note that the people who make these movies live in places like Beverly Hills. The target audience isn't going to make that connection.
