That we have been seeing a series or highly orchestrated, insignificant media events that each capture their 15 min. of fame and then fade into obscurity. And each event bolsters presnits approval rating? My, ain't coincidence grand.
Each event takes away attention from the last so the public never gets the end results of the story. And, viola, along comes a new bust of the most recent group of Boy Scouts that have gone over to the dark side and threatened to blow up the statue of Jubilation Cornpone--and that would have been a dastardly deed indeed.
I really don't want to sound like too much of a cynic, but each event come with a reminder that we have suffered no attacks on American soil since 9-11. Meanwhile, Bush travels around on an orgy of fundraising and the media is lapping up the volume of the protections coming from Homeland security.
Did you notice the Shia/Sunni mutual criminality isn't abating, but attention to it is?
Sorta makes one wonder.
