crappy microphones .... again???
One of my pet peeves, when it comes to the shuttle and ISS, is the antiquated microphone system they use. It seems incredible that they should be using that gigantic blue box with a big poll sticking out of it. The audio quality is crappy too. After spending all those billions of dollars you would think they would be able to come up with something a lot more modern than that. Is there some reason, other than it’s cheap, well-known technology, and doesn’t need to be flight qualified at great expense, that they would stick with this crappy system?
