Shape recognition is AI

Hi Raoul

Technically the MERs are already using AI sensors, but they're not independent of human direction - not AI Explorers, as yet.

Most humans-in-space rhetoric is stupid without a plan to actually colonise. We should be planning expandable colony modules from the start. Exploration for space scientists needs just 'bots, but the real reason to send humans is just ignored. The first human missions back to the Moon need to check out lava tubes so long-term habitats can be built - a six month stay will need it to avoid the cosmics.

Rovers are fine for science, even prospecting, not humans.
