I'm sure the recent events of these past few days has complicated our psychological serenity. This co-incided with a parallel event. On Thursday, when Israel started conducting indiscrimate bombing raids on the Palestinians, I was cleaning out my son's old posters and found the one for the movie "Armageddon" with the big nuclear fireball in the background. I found it ironic and quickly rolled it up and stashed it in an obsure place for the next residents.

I figured somewhere in the back of my mind that there have been secret talks between the US and Israel to find a reason for Israel to conduct airstrikes on Iran's nuclear sites. Knowing this, it is a perfectly logical way to start the aggression, escalate and finish with what the US/Israel think could be a clean way of excising this danger.

However, like Iraq, they haven't thought about the consequences....or blowback, but I see them both prepared for the mission. One, because Bush as a born again Christain sees this fits in with his religious belief that Armageddon is on the horizon and being "chosen by God" in his deep abiding faith, he would feel justified to push his agenda. Israel would agree because it removes the nuclear threat from Iran, with US backing and they think they can slide it past the international community with the US at it's side.

However, in getting what we want, we are ignoring the blowback.
