then they bitch and moan about how Bush isn't giving them subsidies for stem cell research. You can't have it both ways people. The simple truth of the matter is that the overwhelming majority of biotech research being done in this country (stem cell included) is privately funded. Bush's ban on federal funds going to promote such research has no effect on these companies whatsoever. They can develop as many stem cell lines for their own purposes as they wish.

If stem cell therapies have as much promise as advocates suggest, then you can bet the private sector will be beating a path to bring them to market and reap the profits from it.
