I've noticed the same about Joe Scarborough. Crazy as a bedbug, but at least with the integrity to denounce hypocrisy amongst his own partisans. I watched Scarborough on tv the other day and he mentioned that his lack of success in Congress was his failure to play the pork barrel game with his own party. He added that one of the reasons the Clinton administration was so successful (!) was the tension that developed between a Dem executive and Rep Congress which kept them both relatively honest. He went on to say that the problems that Bush is having now are largely due to the fact that he has a congressional majority and that the GOP has become corrupt and greedy as a result. He concluded, while still slamming the Democrats, that our system worked best when different parties controlled the White House and Capitol Hill. It's no surprise that Buchanan and Scarborough have been out of the Republican mainstream lately. Newt Gingrich is starting to sound the same way too, are we seeing a trend here? Must be an election year....
