The quagmire was predictable.
All the neocon idiots who got us into this misbegotten war had to do was to listen to the reasons why the first Bush administration didn't go into Iraq with the first Gulf War.
The first George Bush wisely stopped at the border between Iraq and Kuwait knowing full well a country of over 22 million people driven by religious zealotry could easily devolve into sectarian guerilla warfare. Instead he chose containment and disarmament - a solution that was serving us well until the younger Bush came along and screwed it all up.
Heck, I even predicted this in the days leading up to the start of "major hostilities."

Is that what George Bush meant by "MIssion Accomplished?"
