reality check

Well, there's certainly racism in Israeli society, as the Sephardic Jews from Yemen and Ethiopia and Morroco can confirm. But, it's those same Sephardim who are the most militant in protecting Israel from the Arab countries. It seems like they have a real experience of 'ethnic cleansing' in their original homelands.

Also, there are a lot of Israeli Arabs, not only the Druze but others, who seem to live very well as citizens within Israel. This is not to deny the social & economic racism which I mentioned above. But it's not right to portray them as lower or second class citizens. They are still doing pretty well, have their own political parties, and live in a democracy. They can organize and push their interests against the ruling elites, just as the Sephardim do so vigorously and effectively.

It seems to me that Israel's ruthless policies towards the palestinians are based on their ruthlessness towards violent and vicious troublemakers. History, from 1948 onwards, shows that people who accept Israel's existence will be left alone. There IS a peace treaty with Egypt, you know ..

Oh but I keep forgetting - it's "STOLEN" land ...
