Republicans using week's events to charge Democrats' defense weakness

In the first place, it seems to be a Brit affair. The US, obviously trying mightily to claim some credit, says it shared some "chatter". Pathetic.

Nothing the Republicans did contributed to exposing this plot. However, a plot such as this creates so much havoc in the US and Britain it's worth the effort for the plotters EVEN IF IT NEVER COMES OFF. The costs, time losss, etc., are enormous.

Second, it seems silly for the US and Britain to declare war on two Muslim nations who are NO threat to the US and NOT expect some reprisal. Thousands upon thousands of innocent people have died in those two nations to allegedly avenge 3,000 innocent people slaughtered in the US. How many innocent deaths avenge an innocent death?

Third, the US supports Israel in it's ethnic cleansing of Muslims. How can a nation doing that not expect some equivalent reaction?

There are those who will try to claim the US is innocent. It's as futile to suggest they read history as it is to suggest they try to look behind propaganda.
