Recent smash-up?

Hi Larry

Interesting news bite that one. Means the available material in the EK Belt is denser than we imagined making the Belt an even better location for visiting ETI probes to garner materials - but it also makes it seem kind of akin to Tom Van Flandern's 'exploding planet' scenarios for Belt formation. Such a dense debris field is hard to explain except via a recent collision or disruption. As I believe in identifying a mechanism before invoking extreme events a planetary collision seems more likely. And fairly substantial planets too - my BOTE calculation says a quadrillion 100 metre ice blocks mass about 1/6 Earth.
